On April 17, 2008, Dr. Moore described the CoastLines project's recruitment efforts during a teleconference entitled "Participant Recruitment & Retention/Marketing: Strategies for recruiting and retaining project participants, and for marketing your project to the community." The session for principal investigators managing projects in the National Science Foundation's Innovative Technologies for Students and Teachers (ITEST) program was conducted by the Educational Development Center's ITEST Learning Resource Center . |

On 5-6 February 2008, Dr. Moore, principal investigator (PI) for the CoastLines project, presented a poster at the 2008 Innovative Technologies for Students and Teachers (ITEST) annual summit. On 6-7 February 2008, Steven Moore, Principal Investigator for the CoastLines project, visited with staff from Senators Jon Kyl (AZ) and John McCain (AZ) and Representatives Gabrielle Giffords (AZ) and Raul Grijalva (AZ). The purpose of the visits was to brief the congressional offices about the Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) program and convey support for proposed budget increases for the National Science Foundation. |
