FVHS Student Wins Grant for GIS-Based Project! Print E-mail

One of 30 winners in the U.S., Erikamarie Gill of Felix Verela High School in Miami has received a $1,000 grant from Planet Connect for her GIS-based project: Identifying Native Plants of the Everglades. Felix Verela High hosted the 2008 CoastLines Summer Institute that featured field trips to the Florida Coastal Everglades Long Term Ecological Research (FCE LTER) site. GIS has taken root at the school and students are reaping the benefits!
