At this dynamic two-day professional development workshop presented by the Ventura County Office of Education, teachers will investigate watersheds along the California coastline. The participants will collect authentic environmental field data using digital probeware from PASCO Scientific. In addition, they will visualize data with My World GIS software. Field-based and computer-lab activities will be used to explore the Ventura and Santa Clara watersheds and how they impact the health of the Santa Barbara Channel. Activities adapted from CIPE's Mapping an Ocean Sanctuary project by its Channel Mappers project will be used at the event.
